Family Music Festival to Celebrate National Trails Day

Enjoy live outdoor music, have fun with family and friends, celebrate National Trails Day, and support Canoe Evansville all at the same time at Pickin’ on the Pigeon 2006!

Last year's Pickin’ on the Pigeon music festival was a huge success, and this year’s event is going to be even better! More musicians. More activities. More demonstrations. More vendors. More sponsors. More of everything for people of all ages and interests to enjoy!

Pickin’ on the Pigeon 2006 promises to be a day of fun for the whole family!

Wabash Heritage Paddlefest 2007
Canoeing, music, activities, and more for the entire family!
DATE TO FOLLOW | Grayville, IL, New Harmony, IN, and the Wabash River | All Day

Join us and take part in the very first annual Wabash Heritage Paddlefest! Come a day early to experience Grayville days and celebrate the town’s sesquicentennial. Make sure to save your energy and brush up on your skills with a Quick Start canoe class on Saturday morning. Then take part in the 9.7 mile float from Grayville, IL to the town of New Harmony, IN where the festivities continue. This canoe float is a great way to enjoy the beautiful Wabash with your family and friends.

Registration begins at 8:00 am in Grayville. The cost per person is $20. For children under 12, the cost is only $12 per person. Registration fee includes a t-shirt, water, and a snack.

The Paddlefest is an American Canoe Association sanctioned event. Ohio Valley Search & Rescue and Hazelton Search & Rescue plan to attend to ensure safety. In addition, volunteers from Canoe Evansville, Ohio Valley Whitewater Club, and others from across the state will be on the water helping out.

A representative from J.L. Waters of Bloomington, IN will also join the festivities, bringing along demo boats and representatives from water sport manufacturers. J.L. Waters and Canoe Evansville will also be sponsoring free lectures on topics including:

  • Canoe camping
  • Canoeing with kids
  • Coldwater canoeing
  • Yoga for boaters
  • And more!
