Harvest Festival & Hayride

Harvest Festival & Hayrides

Enjoy the changing seasons at Wesselman Woods Nature Preserve while taking in the thrills and traditions of autumn at this family-oriented afternoon and evening event.

Horse-drawn hayrides carry you through Wesselman Park while you learn how nature prepares for winter. Meanwhile, several of the Preserve’s inhabitants–including raptors and reptiles–are waiting to meet you at Odonata Pond in the Nature Preserve.

Take a guided hike through the woods at night. You can listen for wildlife and see an after-hours side of the Preserve that visitors rarely see.

Other hands-on learning experiences also abound, like stargazing, insect identification, sensory games, and more. Plus, enjoy seasonal concessions for purchase.

Event cost is $5 per person. Children 2 and under are free. All proceeds help support the educational and nature programs Wesselman Nature Society provides throughout the year.
