Animal Encounter

Sunday, March 26 - 2:00 pm to 2:15 pm

Join us every Sunday at 2:00 pm for an Animal Encounter with one of the Nature Center’s resident Docent Animals. We have over 50 animals living at the Nature Center and this is your chance to get an up close look at them while learning about them from our Naturalists. Stop by the Welcome Desk when you arrive to find out the location of this week’s meet-and-greet. This event is free with Nature Center admission.

April Fools Day Hike

Saturday, April 1 - 9:00 am to 10:00 am

If you like shenanigans and malarkey, you will love our Alternative Facts Hike! Start off April Fools Day with Naturalist Kristine as she leads you on a (not) factual hike through the Nature Preserve. This hike will last 45 minutes to 1 hour (depending upon how many times we need to play possum when the moose walks by). This hike is family friendly and perfect for all ages. Kids Photography Club

Sunday, April 2 - 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm

Hosted by Shanon Pruden, owner of Shanon Miranda Photography. The photography club is open to kids ages 10 and up. Younger children who previously participated in Shanon’s beginning photography classes at WWNP are also welcome to attend. Club members will participate in photo walks and challenges and receive instruction and tips from experienced photography mentors. This is a drop-off program and participants should dress for the weather and wear good walking shoes. Each student should bring a simple digital camera to use for club activities. Smart phones / iPhones / iPods are acceptable, but we recommend a protective case.

The club is free for members of Wesselman Woods and $3 per session for nonmembers. Kids must have a program waiver on file at the Wesselman Woods office to participate. Please contact Gena at 812 479-0771 ext 102 or for more info.
