![]() ![]() ![]() Join us for an exciting Earth Day celebration in one of Evansville’s most biodiverse green spaces, the 35-acre Howell Wetlands. This free community event will be held on Saturday, April 18th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with hourly hikes and shows scheduled from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The day’s activities will include a Live Raptor Show, Water Bug Fishing, Children’s Crafts, Guided Hikes, Green Living Tips, and more. “Given the variety of activities for visitors of all ages and the setting of this urban wetlands that is teeming with wildlife, our Earth Day celebration is one of the Evansville area’s premier seasonal events,” said WNS Director of Education Lauren Preske. “You can attend a show, make crafts with the kids, or just relax and absorb the beauty of the wetlands in its spring debut.” The 2009 Earth Day at Howell Wetlands is conducted by the Wesselman Nature Society and sponsored by Evansville’s Westside Wal Mart.
