Recycle Symbol

Recycle Saturday, March 6th at Old Walmart West from 8 a.m. to Noon. Wesselman Nature Society also conducts monthly drop off recycling opportunities at various sites throughout Vanderburgh County for certain recyclable items. For a full listing of these off-site recycling opportunities, visit: www.WesselmanNatureSociety.org/recycling/offsite.php.

Items accepted during off site collections are as follows:

  • Aluminum cans
  • Glass containers: all colors
  • Steel food cans
  • Newspapers: including inserts that come in the paper
  • Plastic bottles (small necked): Only #1 and #2 plastic (milk jugs, laundry detergent bottles, and soda bottles).
  • Bottles that contained a hazardous material (bleach, antifreeze) cannot be accepted.
  • Magazines and catalogs
  • Mixed paper (junk mail, notebook paper, wrapping paper, copy paper)
  • Cardboard and paperboard: including cereal boxes

We ask that you please separate these items by the material types listed above and place them into separate bags or boxes. Paper shopping bags work best for this. Flatten boxes before you arrive if possible. Please be sure items are clean and dry. Lids need to be removed.
