Scout Programs
Wesselman Nature Society hosts workshops for Boy and Girl Scouts of all age levels within its programs and properties: Wesselman Woods Nature Preserve, Howell Wetlands, and Canoe Evansville. Workshop activities are selected to meet badge, achievement, or elective requirements in a fun, unique way. Scouts will experience the wonders of nature through hands-on discovery activities, trail exploration, animal encounters, games, crafts, and more in our woods, wetlands, and waterways.
The workshops offered by WNS are listed below. Workshop dates can be customized for a minimum of 10 scouts. Small scout troops may be able to join other troops interested in the same workshop. You may click on the link to the scout registration form below for more details (please call to inquire before mailing). Contact the scheduling Naturalist at (812) 479-0771 x103 for more information about scout programs.
Please note the following:
•Workshops cover all requirements to complete one or a combination of badges, achievements, or electives. WNS does not provide bead, badge, or pin awards.
•A ratio of 1 adult leader for every 6 scouts are required.
•Scouts should come dressed for the weather, as some activities are outdoors. In the case of inclement weather, indoor activities may be substituted.
• Wesselman Nature Society has guides that are badge certified for the canoe program. |
